Content Type Sniff

by Delx Content Type Sniff in Onchain & crypto

x402 APIPassing, checked 20 min ago

Heuristic content-type sniff from sample bytes or filename. Call when you need this bounded result before handing data to a downstream tool. Returns deterministic machine-readable JSON for $0.001 USDC via x402 on Base. Honest limit: execution uses only caller-supplied data in memory; it does not call a paid upstream, retain input, search the web, read a live RPC, or invoke a media generator. Results are advisory; the caller owns authorization, budgets, and production controls.

How to call it

POST https://api.delx.ai/api/v1/x402/content-type-sniff

Each call costs $0.001 in USDC on Base, paid with the request over x402.

Run a free test callOne unpaid request, the way an agent sends it. You see the payment challenge it gets back. Nothing is charged.

Example request

From the listing.

POST https://api.delx.ai/api/v1/x402/content-type-sniff
content-type: application/json

{

Call it from code

The curl command shows the payment challenge. The JavaScript and Python versions pay and call, and never pay more than $0.001.

curl: see the payment challenge
# bash or zsh: see the payment challenge. Nothing is charged.
curl -sS -g -i -X POST 'https://api.delx.ai/api/v1/x402/content-type-sniff' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"filename":"doc.pdf","sample":"%PDF-1.4 mock"}'

# x402 v2 sends the challenge base64-encoded in the PAYMENT-REQUIRED header (v1 sends it in the body).
# To read the header:
curl -sS -g -o /dev/null -D - -X POST 'https://api.delx.ai/api/v1/x402/content-type-sniff' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"filename":"doc.pdf","sample":"%PDF-1.4 mock"}' \
  | grep -i '^payment-required:' | cut -d' ' -f2 | tr -d '\r' | base64 --decode
