Decode

by chain.openverbs.com in Onchain & crypto

x402 APIPassing, checked 2 h ago

Turn a 4-byte function selector or full calldata into its human-readable function signature, and (when calldata is present) the decoded argument values. Supply an `abi` for a fully deterministic offline decode, or omit it to look the selector up in public signature registries. Reads with automatic fallback.

Call it from code

The curl command shows the payment challenge. The JavaScript and Python versions pay and call, and never pay more than $0.004.

curl: see the payment challenge
# bash or zsh: see the payment challenge. Nothing is charged.
curl -sS -g -i -X POST 'https://chain.openverbs.com/v1/decode' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"selector":"0xa9059cbb"}'

# x402 v2 sends the challenge base64-encoded in the PAYMENT-REQUIRED header (v1 sends it in the body).
# To read the header:
curl -sS -g -o /dev/null -D - -X POST 'https://chain.openverbs.com/v1/decode' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"selector":"0xa9059cbb"}' \
