Tools Web Fetch

by DexL Agents in Search & web

x402 APIPassing, checked 4 h ago

Fetch any public web page or JSON API and get its status, content type, headers and body back. For agents that need to read a page they cannot reach themselves. Private networks and loopback addresses are blocked, and large bodies are truncated rather than dropped.

Call it from code

The curl command shows the payment challenge. The JavaScript and Python versions pay and call, and never pay more than $0.001.

The code pays $0.001 in USDC on Base instead: it uses a payment scheme other than exact, which needs a different client setup.

curl: see the payment challenge
# bash or zsh: see the payment challenge. Nothing is charged.
curl -sS -g -i -X POST 'https://agents.dexl.io/v1/tools/web-fetch' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"url":"https://example.com"}'

# x402 v2 sends the challenge base64-encoded in the PAYMENT-REQUIRED header (v1 sends it in the body).
# To read the header:
curl -sS -g -o /dev/null -D - -X POST 'https://agents.dexl.io/v1/tools/web-fetch' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"url":"https://example.com"}' \
  | grep -i '^payment-required:' | cut -d' ' -f2 | tr -d '\r' | base64 --decode
