Tools Web Search

by DexL Agents in Search & web

x402 APIPassing, checked 2 h ago

Search the live web and get ranked results back: title, URL and snippet for each hit, up to 20 per call, optionally biased to a country. The natural first step before fetching or crawling - this tool finds the pages, the fetch and crawl tools read them. Results come from an independent web index and the response names which one answered.

Call it from code

The curl command shows the payment challenge. The JavaScript and Python versions pay and call, and never pay more than $0.006.

The code pays $0.006 in USDC on Base instead: it uses a payment scheme other than exact, which needs a different client setup.

curl: see the payment challenge
# bash or zsh: see the payment challenge. Nothing is charged.
curl -sS -g -i -X POST 'https://agents.dexl.io/v1/tools/web-search' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"count":5,"query":"x402 protocol agent payments"}'

# x402 v2 sends the challenge base64-encoded in the PAYMENT-REQUIRED header (v1 sends it in the body).
# To read the header:
curl -sS -g -o /dev/null -D - -X POST 'https://agents.dexl.io/v1/tools/web-search' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-raw '{"count":5,"query":"x402 protocol agent payments"}' \
